About the Film

Hi, thanks for dropping by!
Students will research the environmental impacts of fly fishing, skiing, and climbing, specifically issues that are occurring in Jackson Hole. Through this research project students will discover which organizations are working towards minimizing the impact of said sports. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to collect qualitative research by conducting interviews of fly fisher-people, skiers and snowboarders, and climbers. Students will be able to travel to the spaces where people recreate in order to get an insider look to the outdoor sports world.

The film itself will showcase the work the students put into making it. It will include: the conduction of interviews, students trying the sports, a compilation of recreationists on the mountain, water, and crag, as well as the ugly truths of outdoor recreation and what action we can take.

3 main ideas guiding the creation of the film:
-
Inspire generations of all ages to take environmental action in the areas they play in
-
Students have the power to create change and have a space to showcase their creativity
-
Viewers will learn at least one new way to protect the ecosystems they recreate after watching the film
